Mission Beach and the surrounding communities of South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach, Kurrimine Beach and Bingil Bay are some of the more eclectic holiday destinations in Tropical North Queensland. The region is an excellent base for enjoying the southern corridor between Cairns and Townsville and eveything the "cassowary coast" has to offer.
The largest community in the area, Mission Beach, features great restaurants and diverse accommodation types, and is the gateway to the Family Island Group, which includes the world-famous Dunk and Bedarra Islands.
Luxury hotels and resorts are located at Mission Beach and South Mission, along with many beachfront holiday homes and self-contained apartments. Camping is also a favourite option for locals, with several great camping and caravan parks located at various beaches.
Mission Beach is located approximately 2 hours drive south of Cairns International Airport.
