Residents angry with Bluewater
Residents living next door to Multiplex Bluewater are fed up with the dust and noise created by the multi-million dollar development
Trinity Park Estate residents want the developer to level and fence the new blocks before they are sold to prevent further disruption.
Resident Jacques Tcherkassky has collected more than 50 signatures from people who are unhappy with the neighbouring development.
Mr Tcherkassky met the developer's representatives last week but he said they were not able to reach a compromise.
"The construction of the Bluewater residential project is being undertaken in accordance with Cairns City Council Development Approval," a Multiplex spokesman said.
"In order to ensure minimal impact to the existing environment, Multiplex has minimised benching (levelling) on individual land lots and Multiplex will be encouraging individual land-lot owners to work with the existing land form rather than undertake major benching works."
The residents rallied earlier this year to voice their disdain over the pending removal of parkland and a nature strip behind their homes, which was used as a marketing tool by the former developer.
The land, which residents said acted as a wildlife corridor, had since been cleared.
"A proper development, stage by stage, and the creation of a buffer zone between Bluewater and Trinity Beach could have helped prevent this situation," Mr Tcherkassky said.
Dust and din: Residents are upset with the Bluewater development's continual work.
