Terry James: Cairns Division 3
Statement: As a person with a wealth of experience and knowledge in Local Government, Terry James says he has the "runs on the board" to manage the challenges facing the enlarged Division 3 of the Cairns Regional Council.

As a resident of Mount Sheridan and a successful business owner for more than 35 years, Terry says: “To best handle the demands created by the current growth rate, it is important to continue to provide adequate infrastructure to support and care for visitors, residents and the surrounding environs.’’
Born and educated in Cairns, and a member of the third generation of his family to live in Cairns, Terry has been effective member of local government in Cairns for the past decade.
He is currently the Deputy Mayor and was previously the Chair of two Cairns City Council committees – positions he has embraced and conducted with the utmost professionalism.
Terry has always been involved in community work and gives as much of his time as possible to several community organisations.
Terry and his wife Carole now reside in Mount Sheridan, and between them, have five adult children.
