Statement: Paul has represented Division 1 since the March 2000 elections. He is a Gordonvale cane farmer and has lived in the Gordonvale area all his life.

Paul is Chair of Cairns Works and Services Committee, and Chair of Cairns Water Committee. He is also Chair of the Pest Management Group, sits on the Audit Committee of Council, and is Deputy Chair of Cairns Rivers Improvement Trust.

He has recently been appointed as the Director for Local Government on the board of Terrain, the region’s leading agency for natural resource management.

 

In this role, Paul will continue to ensure that the far North Queensland region enjoys sustainable growth, and help protect our magnificent natural attributes.

Paul is committed to fostering community development and maintaining the cultural, economic, environmental and social wellbeing of the new regional city.

 

He looks forward to the challenges presented by achieving these goals in the face of the strong growth in Cairns southern areas.
