The Palace of Impossible Dreams
Jennifer Fallon (Harper Voyager)

This is the third novel in Fallon’s Tide Lords series and continues the story as the Immortals begin to make a more obvious play for control of the world.

The former duchess, Arkady, finds herself sold as a slave and shipped even further away from those who might be able to save her, only to discover that her closest allies might actually be the Immortals themselves.

Declan Hawkes, struggles to come to terms with the fact that will now live forever and set out to find his one true love, Arkady.

Meanwhile the former Duke, Arkady’s husband, Stellan Desean finds himself running to his enemies in order to save his country from the machinations of Jaxyn – a Tide Lord in disguise.

If this all sounds too confusing it is probably best to read the first two novels.

Fallon is one of the best fantasy writers in the field but a massive storyline like this one does need to be begun at the beginning.

Verdict: Well worth getting hold of the first two books; great fantasy thriller
