Masterful adventure fantasy
Wrath of a Mad God
Raymond E Feist (Harper Voyager)
Once again Feist delivers with a smashing continuation of the story begun in Flight of the Night Hawks.
Readers return to the worlds of Midkemia and Kelewan, the magician Pug and his odd friend Nakor, his sorceress wife Miranda and their grown children.
The battle against The Nameless One continues as Miranda is captured by the Dasati, beings from yet another new world that lies in the realms of Hell yet is somehow connected to Kelewan.
As always there are a number of side plots involving ordinary people who fight the good fight against evil while the magicians and gods rail against the enemy in the Void.
If you’ve never read one of Feist’s novels in this continuing series you’ll find it very hard going to get a grip on all the characters and history to be found in Wrath of a Mad God.
If you’re a fan you will have every obsession granted as the novel concludes the most recent series.
Raymond E Feist is one of the best-selling fantasy writers in the world and has been since his original series that began with Magician.
Anyone even vaguely interested in fantasy will have read his seminal Midkemia novels.
This is as good as his best and better than some and well worth buying to complete the set.
Verdict: Classic adventure fantasy from a master of the genre.
