Body found
THE body of a male has washed up at London Bridge near the Twelve Apostles early this morning.
A police media spokeswoman said the Asian man, believed to be in his late teens, appeared to have drowned. The discovery was made by a group of NSW tourists at around 9am this morning.
''The body has been secured and the air wing is on route to collect it,'' she said.
Police have declared the area, off the Great Ocean Road, a crime scene.
Port Campbell Surf Lifesaving Club secretary Jenny Duynhoven said conditions had been extremely rough over the past few days.
"If people aren't familiar with the area and the conditions, they can easily run into trouble,'' she said.
"People often fish off the edge but all it takes is one big wave to knock you off and you can be in trouble.''
The drowning is the region's sixth water tragedy this year.
