Regarded as one of the most sought after party invitations of the year, The Elandra Resort Mission Beach is preparing for its night of nights on Saturday, June 28 with superstar Grace Jones performing.

The exclusive poolside event celebrates the launch of its newly renovated four and a half star, resort, new brand, and performance by none other than Grace Jones. Yes, ‘the’ Grace Jones.

Previously known as ‘The Horizon’, the new owners of the recently renamed ‘Elandra’, Katrina Knowles and Adam Karras are committed to rolling out glamorous and eclectic boutique hotels around the world.

The Elandra Mission Beach in Tropical North Queensland will be the very first and opens in June 2008.

The official launch event will see celebrities from Australia and indeed the world, fly in for an exotic ‘safari meets sea’ party, with a special guest performance by the safari queen herself, Grace Jones.

DJ Donni One (resident DJ at stylish Ku De Ta, Bali) will spin poolside tunes to continue the party into the night.

Elandra Director, Katrina Knowles has a property development background from her family business, The Knowles Group, together with her career as a Broadway performer.

The first of many, The Elandra is situated on a site overlooking Dunk and Bedarra Island and is conveniently located at the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef in Mission Beach.

Rare pieces of tribal art are being integrated into a cool minimal white interior by flamboyant Melbourne interior designer, Jean Pierre Heurteau.

The Elandra houses 55 individually decorated rooms, a swimming pool, a fine dining restaurant, glamour cocktail bar, chill out lounge areas, conference facilities and private dining rooms.
