Little Theatre's Murder Mystery
Out of Sight, Out of Murder will be performed at the Rondo Theatre from Friday, May 9 to Saturday, May 17 at 8pm each night.
The opportunity for a writer to meet the characters of his next novel would seem like a dream come true - or would it?
In the Cairns Little Theatre’s upcoming production of Out of Sight, Out of Murder, Peter Knight is struggling to write a thriller. His solution is to rent an old mansion, hoping to find inspiration. However, as he quickly discovers, he gets a lot more than he could ever have imagined.
As Peter muses at his typewriter, the impossible starts to happen. The very characters who have existed only in his head, suddenly appear.
One would think this is the perfect solution for a blocked writer, but these characters have a story of their own and it includes murder.
Fred Carmichael’s play is set in the grand murder/mystery tradition and is both fast and funny. It features all those wonderful characters of the genre – a dutiful butler, nervous maid, shifty lawyer and his glamorous wife, plus a cantankerous old spinster, just to name a few.
And are these murders in any way connected to the mysterious death of another author who died in the house? As the body count rises, Peter realises that he might be the next victim.
Out of Sight, Out of Murder will be performed at the Rondo Theatre from Friday, May 9 to Saturday, May 17 at 8pm each night. Bookings at Ticketlink on 4031 9555.
