RISING Cairns star Jackson Richardson hopes to take his talents to the home of American country music star Loretta Lynn.
But it won’t be his ability as a singer or with the guitar that takes him to Lynn’s ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
It’s his skill as one of Queensland’s best young motocross talents that may get him to the Amateur National Motocross Championships staged at Lynn’s ranch.
Richardson, 13, finished eighth in the open 85cc division at last month’s World Minis motocross championships in the US, despite competing against riders up to three years his senior.
Finishing third in 85cc stock and modified categories qualified him for the regional championship stage at San Bernardino, California, on June 7-8 where he will try to secure a spot at the Amateur Nationals on July 28-August 2.
Richardson, who already boasts three Queensland titles, said he was excited about the prospect of again testing himself in the US.
"I’ve just got to put in the hard work at training to take on some of the fastest riders in the US."
