Artist Profile - Amanda Feher
Q&A with local artist Amanda Feher.
Why did you want to express yourself artistically?
So that I could move people through the visual language of art.
How long have you been practising art?
After I graduated from my honours degree at the beginning of 1997, I decided after four years of study that the last thing I wanted to do was waste any opportunities.
What are your thoughts on the local art scene?
I think there are so many amazing creative minds in the Far North and the more we can foster the creative spirit, the better.
What are you working on/exhibiting?
I am working toward a major retrospective auction show to be launched tomorrow at 6pm at the new Tableland Regional Gallery, Robert St, Atherton.
Where are you heading in the future?
I have always used multiple mediums, including marble, bronze, steel, fibre, oils, acrylic and charcoals in both figurative and abstract styles. I would like to reduce my focus to classical, romantic oils, charcoals and marble carvings. Hopefully, with these intentions, I can both enhance my skills and launch with a major gallery to touch a greater audience
