PARADISE Palms Resort and Country Club is set to open a new 96-room, 4.5 star resort in December, owners of the country club say.

The resort is expected to become a popular spot for golf tours, weddings and corporate events and conferences.

Developed by H&S Vision Group and managed by Vision Hotels and Resorts, the design and management style of the resort is expected to resemble the model of sister property, The Lakes Cairns Resort and Spa.

The new resort is expected to feature brand new technology and a penthouse-style finish, according to the developers.

Paradise Palms' resort includes features like a swimming pool and barbecues.

There is also the new Fifty Nine Restaurant & Bar and a pro shop that will open in June, as part of the project's stage-one completion of the multi-million dollar clubhouse re-development.

These facilities are expected to be further developed to include Reds Hairdressing Salon and Spa, a health club and a 2000sq m kid's playground.

Paradise Palms has generated considerable publicity lately, especially regarding alleged plans for a ring road through nearby bushland.

Nearby residents have been active lobbying against any change to their idyllic rural lifestyle.

The complex itself is owned jointly by H & S Vision and the Hedley Group.
