THE man bitten on the penis by a snake has become a celebrity with national media clamouring to get an interview with the Cairns carpenter.

Daryl Zutt was bitten by what is believed to be an eastern brown while on a fishing and hunting trip in April.

But since his "lucky break" was reported by The Cairns Post, Mr Zutt was last night interviewed by A Current Affair stand-in host Eddie McGuire and was contacted by national media outlets such as lad’s magazine Zoo Weekly, That's Life and Sydney radio duo Hamish and Andy.

"It’s pretty overwhelming," he told The Cairns Post. "Just dealing with all of these people has been crazy.

"They’ve even had me on the air – that got me a bit unaware … you don’t expect to be having a laugh about getting bitten like that on the radio, do you?"

The unbelievable incident occurred when Mr Zutt squatted down to relieve himself near Laura, 300km northwest of Cairns, on April 27.

And since the incident came to light, Mr Zutt has been forced to deal with his new-found fame.

He has also had interview requests from 2GB Radio Sydney, Macquarie Regional Radio and Channel 10 Brisbane.
