Dine on the Edge
African attractions: A rare white rhino is only one of the animals on display at the Cairns Wildlife Safari Park.
Have you ever looked across the table at your dinner partner and thought you were eating with a wild animal? At Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve, you can.
Enjoy welcome drinks at the Hippo Bar while overlooking a large dam that is home to 3 fully grown hippos.
A behind the scenes tour of the Reserve brings you a hint about your dining companions as a large pacing lioness growls.
Your personal chef will then prepare a sumptuous gourmet meal at the Zulu Bar as you watch the sunset.
As you sit down to eat, sixteen hungry lions are released and launch themselves towards the dining area. Their dinner is waiting too.
Once they arrive, you realise that you are safely enclosed in a very special dining area and both you and the lions can eat your dinner in each other’s company.
Launching on Friday, June 13, Dine On The Edge is the world’s most extreme dining experience.
To be held each Friday night, guests are advised places are limited so bookings are essential.
Two dining packages are available, with the Extreme coming in at $150 per person and the Executive at $220 per person.
Cairns Wildlife Safari Park is one of Cairns and Australia's premier animal attractions.
It is located around half an hour's drive west of Cairns in Kuranda, the gateway to the Atherton Tableland.
Main features of the Reserve include tigers, hippos, bears, white rhinos, ostriches and Australasia's largest pride of lions in captivity.
