FOR four consecutive days this week, Nathan Jawai will be called on to lay his best cards on the table as the pressure mounts in the lead-up to the NBA draft.

Jawai will work out for the Indiana Pacers today before heading to Cleveland tomorrow, Washington on Thursday and Toronto on Friday as his push to become a first-round draft pick intensifies.

The murky picture could become slightly clearer today as the deadline for draft withdrawals arrives.

"Traditionally, a lot of early entrants go back to school," said Cairns Taipans assistant coach Aaron Fearne who is travelling in the US with Jawai.

"There’ll be a lot of decision-making going on today and tonight (US time) I’d say."

After his four workouts this week and a trial with New Jersey on Monday, Jawai’s schedule has been freed up to allow for second viewings with some franchises.

"There’ll be some moving and shaking after that," Fearne said.

"Some teams have expressed (an interest) to work him out again."

The logistics are of little concern to Jawai who will leave the organisation to his agent and Fearne while he concentrates on performing at his best.

"It’s hard to keep providing your best game every day you work out," Fearne said.

Already, that is proving the case for the 206cm, 124kg Bamaga product who has surprised team after team with his speed, mobility and explosiveness for his size.

"That’s been the most intriguing thing for most of these teams, his ability to move and jump for a man of his size," Fearne said.

"He’s shot the ball a lot better than a lot of teams thought… and the feedback he’s been getting is pretty positive."

Jawai worked out for Denver, Utah, Houston and San Antonio last week and while he was not as pleased with his Denver and Utah performances as his opening showings at Golden State, Seattle, Sacramento and Phoenix, the feedback was still encouraging.
