With a host of local talent on-stage for this year’s Cairns Choral Society Gala, including the Choral Society, Cairns Brass, the Cairns String & Concert Orchestras, Cairns Young Voices, the Julia Macalpine Dancers and some of Cairns’ finest soloists, this year’s gala will showcase the best of the North.
The Cairns Choral Society began in 1923, and is one of Queensland’s oldest Choral groups with a current membership of 150.
Their aim is to promote and encourage the development of musical talent in the far north, and they are considered one of the north’s leading choirs.
It is from this background of high standards and musicianship that Cairns Civic Theatre and Cairns Choral Society are pleased to present the 2008 Gala Spectacular.
With a wide range of musical genres, from sacred songs to show-tunes, dances to band music, you’ll be tapping your toes as you watch our local performers share their talent.
Some music you’ll know, some may be a little less unfamiliar, but all will be wonderfully entertaining.
