Young talent on show
The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Design recognise and promote excellence in senior visual arts education throughout Queensland state and non-state schools.
Previously known as the Education Minister's Awards for Excellence in Art, this program has been conducted annually since 1990 and has helped raise community awareness about the degree of sophistication in concepts, diversity of technical competence, and the high standard of arts education in Queensland secondary schools.
The 2008-2009 touring exhibition showcases works selected in 2007 from more than 500 entries submitted by senior visual art students across the state, including regional and remote communities.
First shown by the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, the exhibition tours annually to regional venues across Queensland, with Tanks now hosting this rich display of fresh and emerging young artists.
