Indigenous artist Jumba Jimba Brodie McIntyre tells us why he loves Cairns the most...

What I love about Cairns is that we don’t live in a big concrete city.

I love the combination of natural bush, tropical rainforest and beach entwined together.

I love our wildlife and living across the road from the bush and the beach where my friends and I fish, play, swim, bushwalk and rock climb.

I love Cairns because we have really clean air and everyone is considerate of the greenhouse effect.

I love Kuranda and my friend’s restaurant, the Windmill Café, where you can get the best mango smoothies.

I love Cairns because it encourages and inspires indigenous and Islander culture which both locals and tourists can benefit from.

I love Cairns because it’s natural beauty and wildlife inspires me to paint.

It’s a good place to be.
