Pride muscles up
WE are getting to the business end of the Queensland Cup season and the excitement is building about the Northern Pride.
The Cairns-based team is two points clear at the top of the ladder after putting on an impressive show against the Easts Tigers in the ABC TV game on Saturday. While they are looking good, they face some tough challenges over coming weeks. On Saturday they play in Rockhampton against a Central Comets team that had a tough 22-20 win over Tweed Heads last weekend.
They then play Tweed Heads before a rest and finish the home-and-away season with two bumper clashes that may decide the finals make-up of the top five. The games against Wynnum Manly away and Ipswich at home should be rippers and should have them in top gear for the finals.
