Concert Countdown On

The countdown to this year's timeOUT concert has officially begun and this week I have featured one of the headliners, Faker, as the cover story.

I spoke to lead singer Nathan Hudson last week and he is genuinely excited about bringing his band to Cairns for the first time for the timeOUT concert on August 30 at Cairns Showgrounds.

Faker is one of Australia’s hottest rock acts at the moment, seemingly popping up everywhere from Rove Live to the Footy Show thanks to its hit single This Heart Attack.

We’re excited to bring a band in such demand around the country to Cairns and this might be the only opportunity local fans will get to see these guys in the Far North.

Don’t forget the timeOUT concert token collection starts in nine days with the Saturday, July 26 edition of The Cairns Post.

Another important component of the timeOUT concert is the Battle Of The Bands. Heat one is on this Sunday from 5pm at Gilligan’s. Six local bands hit the stage with two of them going through to the final at Gilligan’s on Friday, August 8.

There will be two further heats over the following two Sundays.

The overall winner of the competition will open this year’s timeOUT Concert.

In other news this week, The Delltones are celebrating an incredible 50 years together with yet another live concert at Cairns Civic Theatre this Friday night.

Other highlights in the coming week include Boom Crash Opera headlining Bands On The Beach at Palm Cove this Saturday and Tanks Unplugged on Sunday evening.
