Passion Is The Focus
Focus Theatre’s After Passion will be performed at Kuranda Amphitheatre on Friday and Saturday from 8pm.
Diana Monaghan has written an edgy romantic comedy for the next edition of Focus Theatre this weekend.
Focus Theatre, the theatre arm of Kuranda Amphitheatre, is presenting its new play After Passion this Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19.
After Passion is a locally written and directed romantic comedy by Diana Monaghan about what happens when the passion starts to wane in a relationship.
Resort Paradiso, which is set in the tropics and is advertised as a place where jaded relationships will be revived, attracts three diverse couples who hope a resort break will give their love life the pick-me-up it needs.
Of course, love never runs smoothly, and sometimes a holiday together points out the many glaring differences rather than reviving the relationship.
Arriving from city life, the couples have a fix-it-fast or throw-it-away attitude, and the cynical resort staff have seen it all before.
As a romantic comedy, this play also has a humorous tongue-in-cheek look at tourism.
Doors open at 7pm, show time is at 8pm.
Tickets for the shows are available at the door on the night at $12 for members and $15 for non-members.
