Showing how to save
SOPHIE Capocchi can't wait to get into the gates of the Cairns Show today.
The two-year-old Woree youngster has saved all the 5c coins from her mother’s change to buy her way inside.
While her mother, Melissa Harris, said Sophie had no concept of what money bought, she understood she needed to save her coins all year.
"She has kept her coins at her grandparents’ place in a clear jar," Ms Harris said.
"She’s saved just over $40."
With an $8 admission for Sophie to visit the Show, she will spend the rest of her $32 on a showbag, rides and, maybe, indulge in fairy floss or a dagwood dog.
"She loves Dora the Explorer and wants a Dora Showbag so, hopefully, we’ll find one of them for her," Ms Harris said.
"She loves putting the balls in the clown’s mouth and we’ve been driving past the showground and she wants to go on the big ferris wheel.
"The animals are a big highlight for her because she just loves seeing the cows and ducks."
Sophie will visit the Show with her mum, dad Jared Capocchi and sister Claire, 1.
