FANS of the Blue Oval are revved up for their annual day of adoration next weekend.
The Cairns All Ford Day is scheduled to kick off at Munro Martin Park, on the corner of Sheridan and Florence streets, on Saturday, July 26, from 10am
Organiser and All Ford Club FNQ president Ronelle Wegner is expecting a good turn out of Fords and spectators following the recent successes of the All Ford Day at Mareeba and the All Holden Day at the Cairns Showground.
"We invite people who own Fords to enter and members of the general public are more than welcome to attend and see some of the best Fords in the Far North," she said.
Entry is free, food and cold drinks will be on sale throughout the day, as well as a coffee van and an ice cream van on site all day and a free jumping castle for the kids.
Mrs Wegner said it cost only $10 to enter a car to display and for judging.
"To enter a car for display and judging drop the entry form and the fee off at Automotive Service Solutions in Newell St or people can enter on the day,"' she said.
Mrs Wegner said cars had to be on display by 9.45am and owners were invited and encouraged to set up their cars from 7am on the day.
She said entry to the park was from
Grafton St and there would be signed entry points.
"We are fortunate to be able to secure the services of up and coming V8 Supercar driver Shane van Gisbergen and Ross Stone from Stone Brothers Racing,"' Mrs Wegner.
"They will be available from 10.30am until 4pm to sign autographs and chat to fans."
Ms Wegner said among the cars expected to be on display included a supercharged Dick Johnson Racing Falcon, a Craig Lowndes ute, a GT 40 replica, a Landau coupe, a supercharged BA ute, an EA Brock Falcon, a 1966 Mustang convertible, a BF Cobra ute and sedan, a BF 40th anniversary edition as well as quite a few XY and XW Falcons and a 1971 Galaxie.
Trinity Ford will have a full display of FG Falcons, including an XR6 Turbo, an XR8 ute, an XR6 ute, a G6E Turbo and G6E sedan, an XR5 Turbo hatch, an XLT Ranger and a Mondeo, Mrs Wegner said Street Fords Magazine was once again covering the event.
