NORTHERN Pride halfback Luke Millwood will be thrown into the deep end when he makes his debut against Tweed Heads at Barlow Park on Saturday night.

A horrific injury toll has forced the Queensland Cup powerhouse to make a raft of changes to its side with regular five-eighth Jackson Nicolau's call-up to the North Queensland Cowboys' NRL side yesterday another blow.

Captain Chris Sheppard has moved to five-eighth to make room for Millwood in a side that is desperate to bounce back from an upset loss to Central Comets.

Chris Afamasaga (sternum), Quincy To’oto’o-ulugia (knee), Drew Campbell (knee) and Matthew Barlett (shoulder) will all miss the game after picking up injuries against the Comets.

Fullback Chey Bird will add experience in the backline, while Eric Warria will make his debut off the bench.

Cowboys forward Scott Bolton will also start on the bench and is the only Cowboy in the side.

The Pride will be desperate to head into its bye week with some momentum.
