Not a stress in the world: Make like a local and relax!

Many tourists choose busy schedules when the visit the Cairns region, trying to fit in everything before they leave. But for a lot of people, they come to Cairns for a great place to just relax and unwind.

Whether it’s lying on a beach taking in a few rays, taking a stroll along the esplanade at sunset or enjoying fine food and wine in the many world-class restaurants, Cairns is relaxation capital of Australia (ask a local!)

The beauty of Cairns is that while it has a cosmopolitan feel and many amenities not normally seen in a city of this size, it still has maintained its relaxed charm that drew people here in the first place.

The region boasts many day spas, offering luxury pampering with a range of innovative beauty treatments.

There are also enough boutique stores to keep even the most avid shopper happy, with hot spots including the CBD, Port Douglas and Palm Cove.

But for many, escaping the hustle and bustle of the city means getting as far away from civilization as possible – something that is not hard to do in the Far North Queensland, with many untouched destinations only a matter of an hour’s drive from Cairns CBD.

So while you’re here, make sure you set aside a few day of your time just to soak up the tropical atmosphere, let your stress unwind and make like a local and relax!
