BRITISH glamour couple Peter Andre and Katie Price have been hiding a secret affair they now want to reveal to the world: they love it here in Cairns.

The London-based pop pin-up and his sexy model bride, known as Jordan, live a globe-trotting lifestyle but have revealed Cairns is one of their favourite destinations in the world.

They are so fond of the Tropical Far North they regard it as a second home.

"Coming to Cairns is a great experience – not just for me but for my whole family," Andre told The Cairns Post in an email yesterday.

"From the minute we get off the plane, the scent of the tropics hits you. I have been coming to Cairns since the early 90s and have always felt like it is my second home.

"I introduced my wife and family to Cairns three years ago and we now consider it one of our top destinations," Peter Andre said.

Andre has thrown his and Jordan’s support behind the Why We Love It Here campaign, launched by The Cairns Post to help the region’s tourism industry.

As part of the campaign, locals and visitors share what it is they love about the region by posting stories and photographs on cairns.com.au

Tell us why you love it here.

Andre and Jordan are regular visitors to Cairns where the singer’s brothers own Greek restaurant Adelfia.

Andre is also a part-owner of nightspot Velvet Underground.

They were last here about two months ago and in January made a high-profile visit, which drew global attention, to film segments of their reality TV show Katie & Peter.

Andre said there were plenty of reasons to love the region, but he and Jordan particularly enjoyed the fact they could holiday here in relative anonymity after dealing with the paparazzi in Britain and the US.

During one of their earlier visits, Jordan went shopping at Cairns Central. The pair was photographed reading The Cairns Post at breakfast at Villa Romana.

"It’s one of the only places in the world where we are left just to be ourselves and can totally relax without the media intrusion," he said.

"All in all, a great place for anyone and everyone."
