I love Cairns because it is so close to so many wild places.

It's great for our family, camping or bushwalking getaways.

Our favourite camps are at Noah Beach, Davies Creek, Goldsborough, Murray Falls, and by the banks of our majestic inland rivers.

Spectacular bushwalks are on our doorstep in the rainforested mountains or along deserted stretches of coast.

One of the best longer walks we have ever done was the 32km Thorsborne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island.

The views from Nina Peak are awesome.

Whether it is taking a stroll or a hike, dangling a line, yarning around the campfire, spotting our unique wildlife, lazing on the beach or just taking in the superb scenery, Tropical North Queensland is the best place in the world not to be at work.

By the way, the people are friendly too!
