I love it when the sun sets on the mountains and they take on a purple hue.

The coastal road drive to Port Douglas and then on to Cape Trib is amazing.

I visit the lush rainforest regularly and have a change of scene on the rural Tableland.

All these contrasts are within an hour or so drive of Cairns.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in Cairns and then there's the beaches.

The Esplanade and Lagoon are a great place to get some exercise.

I am so lucky to have settled here (from the UK), and appreciate it all the more when I return from a trip away and fly in over green cane fields.

I just love it!
