Being the first to Michaelmas Cay, in the morning aboard Seastar Cruise and approaching that strip of pristine sandy shore with only the birds for company is simply breathtaking.

A guided dive of the Three Sisters bommie was great fun as was taking my own amazing pictures of the coloured fan coral and getting Taka our guide to take one of me at Nemo's house. I highly recommend hiring the camera and giving it a go.
After feeding the bat fish from the back of the boat, we had a delicious hot and cold lunch including prawns and lots of wonderful tropical fruit, before heading to the outer reef for our second stop of the day.
Hastings Reef, off the coast of Cairns on the Great Barrier Reef, was a completely different experience.
Our guide Anna's talk was very informative and I will never forget her rendition of how a sea slug breathes - hilarious. I tried the guided tour in a glass bottom boat this time and it was fun to see and learn so much and remain dry, especially for anyone who is not keen to get wet.
The view of the amazing variety of corals and fish is almost like being under the water with them.
The Seastar family, Bernie, Peter, Damian and their staff, went out of their way to make everyone's day memorable.
Peter has been a skipper in the area since 1971 and he was more than happy to share some amazing stories and history.
