Western force hits Cairns

He may live way out west in Perth, but Drapht's reputation is garnering him all sorts of attention from the eastern states and he's coming to Cairns
Member of the respected Syllaboliks crew alongside Downsyde, Layla and co, Drapht will bring his devastating flow across the Nullarbor when Electric Avenue delivers the hip hop giant to Cadence on Saturday, August 30.
With the success of his debut and sophomore releases Pale Rider and Who Am I, Drapht has firmly burnt his name on the door of Oz hip-hop’s hall of fame.
Brothers Grimm is the third album from the West Australian and on Australia’s most successful independent label, Obese Records, reminiscent of Q-Tip with a hypnotic flow as effortless as Grand Puba, he possesses one of the most unique voices in Australian hip-hop.
Drapht could easily rest on his style alone but this new album presents an artist replete with substance.
The passion and vigour on this album are a testament to Drapht’s unwavering commitment to Australian hip-hop.
His second album blew up more than anticipated, thanks to the attention and widespread success on Triple J and community radio nationwide.
With three seminal albums in five years, Drapht is clearly a force to be reckoned with.

Featuring vocal appearances from Dazastah (Downsyde), Ciecmate and Trials (Funkoars) and guest producers Trials, Plutonic Lab, Simplex and M-Phazes, this album charts a course through the breadth and width of modern hip-hop.
Along with a history of headline shows around Australia and massive appearances at the Obese Block Parties, Drapht has shared the stage with international greats Redman and Method Man, Rahzel and Z-Trip.
His recent performance at Good Vibrations Festival proved beyond a doubt he is worthy of recognition at the highest peak of this country’s hip-hop scene.
Drapht will be joined by cohorts Carlsani and MJ and will be supported by north Queensland’s finest emerging hip-hop crew, the Solemn Prophets.
