Germany's dance king comes to Cairns
Open Records and Electric Avenue will host one of the most respected names in global dance music when Tobias Lutzenkirchen comes to Cairns
Since smashing on to the scene with the release of his now-classic track Daily Disco on seminal imprint Great Stuff
Recordings in 2005, Tobias Lutzenkirchen has successfully made the transition from underground producer to one of the true major players in global electronic music.
Releasing not only under the moniker Lutzenkirchen but under a swag of different aliases such as LXR, LX-Pro, Elektroluxx, Bully Boys, Mike Litt, L.Y.T.Z. and the Electronauts, Tobias has constantly strived to re-invent his sound to fit the trends while at the same time remaining one step ahead of the game.
Refusing to be pigeon-holed into a particular style or genre, his music takes the best elements of techno, progressive, electro, house and minimal and winds them together with trademark solid bass-grooves, cutting-edge production work and the desire to push the envelope with fresh ideas and new sounds.
He has also set up his own label imprint Platform B to offer him and his close friends an outlet to release their more underground sounds.
This year alone he has nearly 150 tracks and remixes under his belt and his touring schedule includes some of the biggest clubs and festivals around the globe, so making it to the Far North is a special treat.
Supported by some of Cairns’ best DJs and artists including Urban Monkeys, Jeremy J, Suspekt, Woodsman and Drewan, this will be another massive event from Open Records, Electric Avenue and one of the brightest stars in global dance music on the last leg of his Australian tour.
Germany’s Lutzenkirchen performs at Cadence on Friday, August 29. Doors open 10pm and tickets are $15 for early birds and $20 for the rest.
