Boy, 7, hooks 1.4m marlin
HE might be only seven years old but Jake Bennetts is already proving a force to be reckoned with on the water.
During a three-day fishing trip with his dad John on board their boat Thylacine last week, the Bayview Heights boy landed a 1.4m marlin at Sudbury Reef off Fitzroy Island.

Jake almost landed two-for-one when another ocean predator tried to steal his fish.
"I was fishing for mackerel but got the marlin," Jake said.
"It jumped out of the water two or three times and there was a shark chasing it."
Jake's mum Jaynee said her son was pleased as punch with his catch.
"He's caught a couple of mackeral but this is the most impressive and he got just as much value out of releasing the fish to live another day," she said.
Yorkeys Knob Boating Club marina manager Stuart Vella was also impressed.
"It's fantastic to see him getting out and fishing because it's a good healthy sport," he said.
