No worries cassowary
Angry cassowary: "Raider" is a common feature of Sal Badcock's backyard in Mission Beach. (Note: picture has been cropped to fit website. Check the gallery for full size image)
Sal Badcock from Mission Beach got this snap of "Raider", the massive flightless cassowary bird in his backyard for our Weekender Wildlife competition.
So far we have received over 900 images and counting, making Weekender Wildlife Photography one of our most successful competitions.

The competition follows The Cairns Post’s successful Operation Leapfrog, done in partnership with the Australian Rainforest Foundation to raise awareness of the plight of frogs in the Far North.
Now, we want you to send us your best snaps in five categories – butterflies, birds, reptiles, Australian mammals and insects.
It’s part of our plan to produce a colour wildlife poster series – all featuring the best wildlife pictures taken by our readers.
