Melissa Harris from Woree has lived in Cairns all her life. Here is why she loves it here so much...

I've lived in Cairns all my life and have seen it grow.

All my family is here and have been all their lives too.

Have started my own family, 2 little girls and another on the way.

I hope they too grow up loving living here as much as i do.

I love that its so green and tropical.

I love that in winter a jumper and some jeans is normally enough to go outside and in summer... Well there's always air con isn't there ??

I love that even in winter we can visit the beaches and dip our toes in the water (provided theres no crocs or stingers!!) and enjoy everything this place has to offer.
