Sounds in the streets of Cairns

A busking beat will resound the streets of Cairns this week as Ergon Energy's inaugural Busking Festival culminates in a three day program of five international acts as part of Festival Cairns 2008.

And while all that is happening, a busk-off between 12 amateur finalists (ranging in styles from gymnasts and drummers to vocalists and instrumentalists) will decide Cairns’ best busker.

On Thursday 18 September at 12 noon, the first of five  international busking acts, Mulletman and Ladderman, will 'bring it' to Cairns streets at City Place Pitch - they have been performing together in and around Australia, NZ and Asia since 1998.

With a dynamic infectious energy combined with a chemistry and repertoire of tricks and feats of danger, these guys will leave you breathless with laughter.
