Private paradise: Luxury and seclusion are both features Mali Mali.

Private paradise: Luxury and seclusion are both features Mali Mali.

Escape from the rat race atop a stunning hill when you retreat to Mali Mali, near Port Douglas, north of Cairns.

Situated on the top of mini mountain and with 360 degree views of the Daintree Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, the award-winning Mali Mali is another spectacular home that is part of the Executive Retreats portfolio.

Designed by the renowned designer Chris Vandyke, Mali Mali is a modern interpretation of the classic Balinese bungalow architecture.

Built in a series of stand-alone pavilions, Mali Mali has every modern convenience combined with soothing natural materials and tones, a spectacular infinity pool that juts out over the mountainside and wide open verandas and corridors.

There are three king-sized bedrooms so the property can sleep up to 8 guests.

There is also a world-class tennis court, mountain trails through pristine rainforest and room for a helicopter to touch down.

Situated on 40 acres of land and on the top of Mt Somerset, Mali Mali is the perfect retreat for a holiday with a group of friends or family, or a special occasion – there’s been at least one spectacular wedding held at the property.

Like all the Executive Retreats, Mali Mali has a complete gourmet kitchen so you can shift for yourselves, or they can organise on-site catering from some of the best in the business.

All the usual appliances are available including a state-of-the-art sound system – and no complaining neighbours – and one of the largest plasma TVs you will have ever seen in the dedicated media room.

Mali Mali also offers a complete laundry, a two car garage, all linen and towels, cleaning service after 8 nights.

The lovely people from Executive Retreats can organise reef trips, yoga classes, in-house massage and spa treatments and baby-sitting can be provided.

Mali Mali costs $950 per night for up to six people; extras cost $50 per night more and covers accommodation only.

Services like spa treatments, in-house catering and baby-sitting cost extra and the minimum stay is 5 nights.

With a group of people – Mali Mali sleeps up to 8 – this is an indulgence you can really afford for a special occasion, a retreat from the world or a one-off indulgence.

Mali Mali is located just north Port Douglas and about an hour’s drive north from Cairns.
