Mustering experience launched
THE outback mustering experience is about to become a part of the local tourism scene with the launch of the Australian Mustering Experience near Port Douglas.
The venture, a long time dream of Gordon Pringle, will be based on Mr Pringle's property at Miallo, just north of Port Douglas and will involve a spectacular show staged at a purpose-built facility.
Mr Pringle has been working on the venture for five years.
As one of the region's largest land owners, Pringle aims to provide a 'true-blue' experience through not one, but several hands-on, activities.
The show, set to launch mid 2009, features an accurate portrayal of daily life for cattle station workers, including mustering by stockmen and women.
The mustering experience is punctuated with whip cracking, stunt riding, traditional country songs and bush poetry, all managed by the authentic narrator who talks onlookers through the trials and tribulations of life on a cattle station, Parker Travel Collection have been enaged to sell and promote the venture.
Todd Parker, of Parker Travel Collection, said: "Seeing the Australian Muster Experience come to fruition has definitely been a dream of mine and in these challenging times I believe it is vital we highlight the very best of Tropical North Queensland and show the world Australia is strong, resilient and ready to keep moving forward."
Australian Muster Experience is situated in a stunning rainforest location backing onto the Daintree National Park.
The packaging of the event will include return transfers from accommodation, dinner and outback show with seating capacity for up to 400 people.
