ASPIRING Cairns model Michelle Guy wants your vote to help her achieve modelling fame in Britain.

Ms Guy, who has previously appeared in the pages of Zoo and Ralph magazines, is the only Cairns entrant in the Wild Orchid model search, a worldwide competition looking for the next big thing in modelling.

Competing against models from England, the US and Canada, Ms Guy is depending on public support to put her ahead of the competition and win the main prize of a professional model shoot in London.

People can vote for their favourite entrant online.

The model with the most votes at the end of each month is declared the winner.

Ms Guy, 22, said while she had dabbled in modelling before winning five titles, she was determined to make her mark on the industry in 2009.

"I really want to focus on it (modelling) this year," she said.

"Winning this competition would give me a great opportunity."

Ms Guy said if she won the competition, she would use the trip to London as a networking opportunity and attempt to set up contacts in Britain and across Europe.

She said she had already received a lot of support in the competition but needed more votes from the Cairns public.

"I am going really well but I need to keep my position," she said.

Wild ambition: Cairns model Michelle Guy is asking the public to support her in a bid to get international fame through the Wild Orchid model search.
