THE Hotel Cairns has come up with a different idea - giving guests the use of six complimentary Smart Cars to come and go as they please.

They can choose from five Mercedes Smart Cars and one cabriolet Smart Car, available on a first-come, first-served basis; including unlimited mileage and a full tank of petrol.

Close destinations to whiz off to include Port Douglas, the  Daintree Rainforest or the tropical North Queensland coastline.

The Mercedes-engineered and Swatch-designed two seater Smart Car  is officially the greenest in Australia with the lowest greenhouse  and air pollution emissions of any car in the country, the hotel says. 

The Hotel Cairns Smart Car packages start from $165 per night in a Plantation Room.

Optional cost to the guest driver is a $29 per day insurance excess reduction fee as offered by rental car companies. Conditions apply.
