HATS off to all the crew who worked so hard to make the Alley Project come to fruition.

Hundreds turned out on the night for the celebration of art and hip‑hop culture at Grafton St.

It’s just what Cairns needs to bring vibrancy to the CBD.

Meanwhile, this weekend is shaping up to be a corker with Victorian five-piece Augie March stepping up to the plate at Tanks Arts Centre tomorrow night for what promises to be a fantastic show with the boys airing tracks from their latest album, Watch Me Disappear.

If you’re heading out to Gilligan’s on Saturday, look out for top producer and remixer Miami Horror, who made his name on the strength of remixes by The Presets and Midnight Juggernauts. Tickets are available at the door.

In anticipation of New Zealand trio Evermore’s big show at Brothers next Saturday, Jesse grabbed an interview with the band, finding out just where the boys are at right now.

Also, don’t forget The Great Aussie Arvo takes place this Saturday down at Julunbu Park, Port Douglas. The big day kicks off at noon, featuring headliner Nick Barker and runs until late afternoon when covers band Grand Theft Audio take the stage.

Fans of tribute acts may want to enjoy Elton Jack covering the hits of Elton John when he plays Vertigo Bar tonight and tomorrow.

Whatever you do, have a great weekend and enjoy yourselves.
