Anthony Mundine and Jawai to dine with charities

SPORT superstars Anthony "The Man" Mundine and Nathan Jawai will be special guests at the Hoop Dreaming Blitz Charity Dinner in Cairns on June 5.

The sporting stars will join Cairns Taipans players Aaron Grabau and Kerry Williams along with Townsville Crocodiles young gun Michael Cedar.

The charity dinner is being held in partnership with Cairns cancer group COUCH to help raise funds for radiology in the Far North.

Event organiser Joel Khalu said the dinner would be a night to remember.

"Any time you have Anthony Mundine and Nathan Jawai together is always going to be something special," he said.

"Both are superstars in their sporting codes and great role models for young people to look up to." Master of Ceremonies Trevor Tim will interview the sports stars during the night and indigenous health ambassador Timmy Duggan will also be a guest speaker.

The dinner will be held at the Cairns Colonial Club Resort.

Tickets cost $55 or $500 for a table of 10 and are on sale until Friday.
