FOURTEEN naked players competed in front of a curious crowd of 200 in the annual Nude Rugby International.

Dunedin's annual Nude Rugby International took place at the weekend at the city's Logan Park.

Dunedin City Council events manager Marilyn Anderson was not concerned about the more public location.

“It’s always been considered a bit of fun,” she said.

The match between The Nude Blacks and an international team was refereed by the mascot of the Dunedin rugby team The Highlanders.

As with most years there was the obligatory streaker who was fully clothed.

The Nude Rugby International started as a celebration of New Zealand’s national nude day.

The event is organised by Bottom Bus, which specialises in South Island and rugby tours.
