RETURNING wakeboarding star Sam "Bobo" Collins showed he's lost none of his flexibility when he won the pro division one at the inaugural Cairns Cable Cup on Sunday.

Collins recently had knee surgery but was still able to twist and turn his way around the Cable Ski Cairns course in front of a big crowd.

Aliysa Gibbons was thrilled to win the women’s division one in the competition’s inaugural year.

"It was a really good event, particularly for all the younger kids who have really improved over the last six months," she said.

"We’re going to do this every year from now on so each year the person who comes first in the main categories will have their name engraved on the cup."

The next major event at Cable Ski Cairns will be a teams competition on September 21 as part of Peace One Day.
