Job offer: fun in the sun
View from the top: Best Job in the World candidates Greg Reynen and James Hill are in Cairns to experience the best the region has to offer.
A SINGAPORE-based American and a Queenslander with a taste for travel have arrived in the Far North on a mission for fun.
Best Job in the World candidates Greg Reynen (US) and James Hill, formerly from Shute Harbour and the UK, arrive in Cairns this morning as part of a new promotional campaign.
This week they will get a look at the best of the Far North and enjoy the best the region has to offer.
Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor said both men had gained "keen followings" as part of the Best Job in the World competition.
"James is an Aussie with strong links in the UK and Greg is an American based in Singapore, so we want to use their respective skills in photography and travel writing to document their experiences and perspectives," he said.
"During their stay, Greg and James will visit the Skyrail in Cairns, go mountain biking and participate in a Jungle Surfing canopy tour."
Whale watching, a cultural habitat tour, the SkySafari and snorkelling also will be on the agenda.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland chief executive Rob Giason said additional exposure for the region was welcome.
"We want to build up exposure in these areas and keep promoting Cairns as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef," he said.
