Farm fresh a hit
Take your pick: Brianna and Jake Dempster shop for local fruits.
CAIRNS' Farmgate Market at The Pier shopping centre is a huge hit with weekend shoppers.
The market started just 10 weeks ago, but already organisers have lauded its success and say the weekly event at the waterfront shopping centre will continue.

"We have been getting really good feedback from farmers, consumers and visitors to the region," co-ordinator Imeea Svanosio said.
The market sells locally grown, tropical produce from Cooktown in the north to Cardwell in the south and Chillagoe to the west of Cairns.
It is one of several popular markets in the Cairns region. Other regular markets include Rusty's in Cairns city, the Cairns Esplanade craft markets, Cairns city night markets and Port Douglas Sunday markets.
