DESPERATE Housewives actress Teri Hatcher has made a flying visit to Port Douglas, north of Cairns, and loved it so much she is already planning her return.
With only two weeks holiday a year, Hatcher and her 11-year-old daughter Emerson Rose enjoyed a breathtaking flight to the Tully River on board Sky Safari Helicopters recently.
Sky Safari pilot Bradley King said the pair were both very excited about their visit and hope to bring their family from the States to visit again soon.
“They were so excited, texting family back in the States and telling them how amazing it was. They took lots of photos and emailed them to their family every day,” Mr King said.
Their day could not have been more perfect with clear skies and amazing weather, Mr King said.
“They had an amazing flight and enjoyed a day of white water rafting in the Tully River,” he said.
Passersby stopped for photos and autographs with the Golden Globe winner, who was welcoming to all her Aussie fans.
“She was so down to earth and friendly and it was not at all a hassle for her to sign autographs or pose for photos,” Mr King said.
After having such a memorable day both returned to Sky Safari two days later to take another flight out to the Great Barrier Reef, stopping at a sand cay, enjoying a gourmet lunch, snorkelling the reef and relaxing.
"They are just really beautiful, nice, cool people. They had so much fun and they said they have every intention of returning."
