He thanked the Australian public for their get-well messages.
"I picked her up this morning and she's feeling great," he wrote.
"Thanks from T and I for all the good wishes over her unexpected visit to hospital here in Cairns overnight."
Ms Rein is in Cairns to lead the spouses' program as part of the Pacific Islands Forum.
Ms Rein had just returned from climbing Tanzania’s gruelling Mt Kilimanjaro.
Ms Rein ate the same fish dish as other members of the Pacific Islands Forum delegation at a function at Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park last night and no other members of the party have reported any illness.
Mr Rudd and Health and Ageing Minister Nicola Roxon will take a Cairns Base Hospital tour and open a one-hour forum on the future direction of health services at 1pm today.
