FALLEN Far Northern tycoon Tom Hedley is roported to be looking at Papua New Guinea as a way of resurrecting his business career.
But at the weekend only the racetrack held his attention.
The reports of a planned PNG move, from southern media agencies yesterday, were a mystery to some, with a former Hedley Group manager denying any knowledge of the plans.
When contacted by The Cairns Post yesterday, Mr Hedley, formerly Queensland’s 45th wealthiest man, was at the races and would not comment.
Mr Hedley’s construction empire collapsed under massive debts last June and is now in the hands of receivers.
The receivers also froze Mr Hedley’s shares in the publicly-listed Hedley Leisure and Gaming company.
His former development manager David Row said he knew nothing of the plans.
