NUDE does not have to be rude.
So say the models who have been baring all in Mission Beach’s rainforests, on secluded beaches and in Tableland lakes this week.
Usually staged in the US, the communityzoe.com annual international convention for fine-art nude photography has hit the Far North – and a group of photographers and models is enjoying a "playground of beautiful landscapes".
Photographer and organiser Zoe Wiseman said nude shots were timeless.
And the Far North’s balmy climate was perfect for being nude in.
The group has been holed up at Mission Beach’s Eco Village and accommodation houses – and say their photo sessions have not even caused a ripple in the laidback beachside community south of Cairns.
"There are so many beautiful secluded places ... we’ve been shooting on the beach too and an older lady actually came out, watched, waved and smiled," model Candace Nirvana said.
But getting your gear off can sometimes come at a cost in the tropics.
"It’s gorgeous ... though there have been a lot of bitey things" a laughing Ms Nirvana said.
