BREAKING NEWS: A report into a flight that killed Cairns aircraft engineer Steve Nott more than two years ago has been released.
An Australian Transport Safety Bureau investigation has found the crashed plane broke up in mid-air during turbulent conditions.
Mr Nott, 50, and pilot Janelle Johnston, 34, of North Balwyn, Victoria, died when the twin-engined aircraft crashed in forest about 60km north of Melbourne on July 31, 2007.
Mr Nott was the sole passenger on the seven-seater Shrike Commander 500 aircraft.
